Pizza on South Street

Joey's Stone Fired Pizza will be the next to enter the pizza fray on South Street.

Retired schoolteacher Joe Rocco says he'll open in the next few weeks at 515 South St., which was a short-lived Venuto's franchise location.

Rocco, a South Philadelphian transplanted to Medford (whose grandfather ran pizza concessions at the Jersey Shore), promises Neapolitan-style pizza plus salads in a family friendly, bistro atmosphere -- "no slices."
