Original Dim Sum Garden expanding in Chinatown

The Original Dim Sum Garden, on 11th Street below Arch in Chinatown, is closed as it expands to double its size.

The shop then became embroiled in litigation when one partner left in late 2013 to open a restaurant labeled as Dim Sum Garden at 1020 Race St., effectively closing the 11th Street location.

Tom Guo reopened it shortly after. Under terms of an agreement signed last spring, both restaurants can use the same name. Guo brands his location as "the Original."

Guo says DSG - which is taking half the space once occupied by Wawa at 11th and Arch Streets - will reopen in February with a larger, more diverse menu.

A Dunkin Donuts will occupy the corner space.
