Oprah to help an incoming Cabrini freshman

Today on Oprah (4 p.m., WPVI):

JaiQuann Beckham of Wilmington, an honors student at Christiana High School in Newark, Del., who will attend Cabrini College, will be featured in a segment on students who can’t afford a college education.

Now what do you think will happen? Hmmm.

Beckham, who can read and speak French and volunteers at a Sunday breakfast mission, is a three-year varsity letter winner in cross country, winter and spring. He is a member of the 4x800 meter relay that holds the school record and is a member of the spring track team that won the 2007-08 Flight A Championship.

He will be joined on the show by three classmates, Elijah Williams and brothers Barien and Darien White, whose colleges of choice have not been announced.
