Now open: b. good in Wynnewood

The healthy quick-serve takes over a former Qdoba.

Thursday, June 25 is opening day on the Main Line for the healthy fast casual restaurant b. good.

For her second Philadelphia-area location, Deb Lutz of Bryn Mawr has taken the former Qdoba shop in Wynnewood Square Shopping Center on Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood.

The area's first b.good, in Marlton, opened last summer. Five locations, all told, are expected to open in the Philadelphia region within the next three years.

House-ground burgers and sandwiches, kale and quinoa bowls, veggie burgers, fruit/vegetable smoothies, shakes and hand-cut fries - sourced locally where possible - are on the menu. The company says 95 percent of the menu is gluten-free and many vegetarian and vegan options are available.

In its first year, the Marlton b.good used more than 30,000 pounds of sweet and regular potatoes, and more than 17,000 pounds of kale went into kale and quinoa bowls, kale smoothies and kale salads. The Wynnewood location, which has 50 seats, is expected to use about the same amount of fresh, local produce and employ 20 locals.

Wynnewood, the 23rd location, has a few seats outside, a small garden that grows herbs and vegetables used in the restaurant, and a 12-foot-long planter box to grow mint year round indoors.
