Numero tres for the Feliz duo

What an incredible two years for Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal.

The Garces alums - chef Spinner opened Distrito and front-of-the-house specialist Sirhal managed - opened Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington in January 2011. (That's A on the map.)

Earlier this year, they wowed the crowd in Fairmount with a second lively Mexican - La Calaca Feliz, 2321 Fairmount Ave. (That's C on the map.)

Now I can tell you they just signed the lease for Restaurant Numero Tres. And they'll split the distance between Montgomery County and Fairmount.

To Manayunk.

They'll take 4410 Main St. (B on the map), previously Mainly Shoes, and a small space now occupied by a fortune-teller (who apparently did not know this deal was coming). It was supposed to become a beer-centric eatery called Cervisia, but apparently the Belvedere Restaurant Group has other issues to resolve.

Sirhal tells me they'll call it Taqueria Feliz - a casual South Philly-style Mexican taqueria with modern touches. The 65-seater, due to open in the spring - will have your tacos and enchiladas plus entrees, plus craft beers and margaritas.

Awesome news. These guy's are serving some exceptional mexican food, in nicely designed spaces, at decent prices and great service. Good luck!

I agree the food is good but definitely not decent prices.
I'll continue to eat near Washington Ave for my authentic Mexican food fix thank you very much.

Great news. I really look forward to Garces taking over this space.
