Goodburger at 1725 Chestnut St., the offshoot of the New York joints, has that shutdown look after less than a year and a half, what with the kraft paper on the window and the phone that ringsandringsrings.

Nick Tsoulos, who was an original investor, said he no longer has a stake in the operation. It was a franchise, said Tom Galis, a principal in the New York office of Goodburger.

My real estate source says the space is in play. It won't stay dark for long.

sad, i liked their burgers better than five guys. they sold beer, which in Penn is odd because it's so expensive to have that right.

Terrible, terrible, terrible news. Like a death in the family. I mean, for the price, Goodburger had hands down the best burgers in town. I absolutely adored them, and will be wearing black today. Seriously.
