New cafe in South Philly

The folks from Mama Yolanda's are behind Righi's Cafe.

With Shank's & Evelyn's gone from South Philly (it's due to open near 15th and Sansom this summer), there's been a need for a luncheonette in that slice of town.

And so the Righi family, which owns Mama Yolanda's, has ventured across the street with Righi's Café, a 50-seater at Eighth and Clymer (743 S. Eighth St.; 215-238-5755).

Kim Righi-Spina and daughter Ashley are there from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, dispensing breakfast fare (omelets, pancakes) and lunch stuff (wraps, cheesesteaks, pork sandwiches. Kim Righi-Spina still helps her mother, Delores, at Mama Yolanda's.
