More Starr pop-ups!

Aimee Olexy of Talula's Table is cooking now. Here's an early line on two more.

What's shaping up as the buzz hit of the summer is the pop-up restaurant that Stephen Starr and crew are running at Washington Square, his empty spot on the west side of the square.

Last night, Aimee Olexy and her staff from Kennett Square's Talula's Table started a sold-out three-night run. Foobooz's Art Etchells snagged a seat and filed a report. Though tables are gone for the three nights, you can grab a spot at the bar, which has four signature cocktails and a wine list developed by Brian Freedman (who, in other news, left the Wine School recently to do his own thing).

Starr will do at least two more pop-ups at Washington Square.

  1. Scheduled at the moment for July 27-28-29 will be the stylings of Konstantinos Pitsillides of the Greek Cypriot BYOB Kanella in Wash West. Menu has not been determined.

  2. Sometime in mid- to late-August, patrons will be treated to the cooking of Angelo Sosa, the Top Chef cheftestant who consulted at Buddakan New York who is working on other projects with Starr. No concept is nailed down yet.

Put down the phone, bunky: No reservations are being taken for either yet.
