Memphis Taproom crew taking over The Mildred
Coeur will be the latest from the crew behind such local bar institutions as Memphis Taproom, Local 44, and Strangelove's.
The crew from Memphis Taproom, Local 44, Strangelove's and the soon-to-open Clarkville have released info on their next project:
Coeur will take over the short-lived Mildred at 824 S. Eighth St,. in Bella Vista.
Leigh Maida, Brendan Hartranft and Brendan Kelly promise "a classic, back-to-basics menu a la Montreal in a cozy and casual neighborhood setting."
Casual bistro menu, heavy on the wine and craft beer.
In a cheeky press release, Hartranft says, "I want this to be the kind of place that local couples frequent regularly and wind up saying to each other 'Did you ever notice that we always go home and have sex whenever we eat there? Weird, right?'"

The partners also have a beer/pizza bar called Clarkville under construction at 43d Street and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia.
Coeur ("heart" in French) also happens to be the name of a Rittenhouse Square lingerie shop. Perhaps instead of hot teddies, the new bar will serve hot toddies.
