Le Viet coming to South Philly

Another Vietnamese contender at 11th and Washington.

Another Vietnamese restaurant at 11th and Washington in South Philly? you ask.

There's Nam Phuong, Pho Hoa, Pho 75....

Here's first word on Le Viet, coming in February to 1019 S. 11th St., a storefront on 11th Street behind the CVS on the northeast corner.

Owner Bruce Cao and family, who formerly owned a duck house at Eighth and Washington, are outfitting this standalone with modern features (wood panels, stone walls, faux metallic tiles) and plans old-fashioned Vietnamese home cooking.

Cao is especially proud of a crab noodle soup that in English is roughly pronounced "gor mee." It takes six hours, and his cooks will make a pot a day. Once it's gone, it's gone.

A liquor license is on the way.
