Batter up: Sneak peek at Michael Schulson's new show
TLC will show an episode of "Ultimate Cake Off" Monday night.
Tonight at 10, TLC is offering a first look at Ultimate Cake Off, a competition series hosted by Michael Schulson, chef/owner of Izakaya at the Borgata in Atlantic City and, this fall, at Sampan at 13th and Sansom Streets.
Ultimate Cake Off pits teams of cake artists charged with making cakes exceeding five feet tall in nine hours. They're judged by a panel. On tonight's episode, decorators Tariq Hanna, Richard Medina and Ashley Vicos work on a cake for the Aquarium of the Pacific's Shark Summer Celebration. (It's shark week on TLC.)
The series will resume Aug. 31. By then, perhaps TLC will polish Schulson's bio, which IDs him as exec chef at Buddakan New York and misspells restaurateur Stephen Starr's first name.
As you might imagine, Schulson says he's pumped because the series' lead-in is Jon & Kate Plus Eight.
