Cherry Hill's McCormick & Schmick's closes

It's now dark at the McCormick & Schmick's seafood restaurant and its adjacent William Douglas Steakhouse at the Marketplace in Cherry Hill, which closed the other day.

The duopoly - pairing the nationally known seafooder with a pricier, one-off steakhouse - opened six years ago. They shared a kitchen and one of those hugely expensive Cherry Hill Township liquor licenses.

Landry Inc. bought the Portland, Ore.-based McCormick & Schmick's two years ago.

I'm hearing a rumor that Landry's is considering a Morton's for the location.

There are McCormick & Schmick's locations in Center City and Atlantic City.
