BurgerFi and Panera landing at 12th and Arch

They are landing at 12th and Arch Streets in the forthcoming Home2 Suites, directly across from Reading Terminal Market.

The Convention Center/Reading Terminal Market area is getting a new destination restaurant:

BurgerFi - a South Florida-rooted fast-casual franchise - will debut in the Philly area on 12th Street between Arch and Filbert Streets in the forthcoming Home2 Suites, directly across from Reading Terminal Market.

Jacob Cooper of the broker Michael Salove Co. said Panera Bread also has signed on to occupy the 12th and Arch Streets corner. Though Panera locations ring the city, this will become the first with a zip code beginning with 191.

BurgerFi's thing is humanely raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free beef and such menu items as Wagyu Kobe hot dogs, quinoa burgers, and frozen custard. (A colleague describes the burgers as "Shake Shack-esque" - simple, on the smaller side, and accompanied by a wide selection of toppings.)

You order at the counter and your order is brought to the table. There will be beer and wine.

Home2 Suites is to open late this summer, while the restaurants are targeting early fall.
