Alison two opening her bar

Alison two's bar area will open Thursday, Oct. 2.

Alison Barshak decided only moments ago to open the bar area of her Fort Washington restaurant, Alison two, starting Thursday, Oct. 2. Hours will be 5:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, and till 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with a happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Drinks (and here I'm quoting from a note): Jamaica daiquiris with hibiscus-infused light rum, lime juice and simple syrup, and Dark & Stormys with black rum, house-made ginger beer and lime juice, and margaritas. Bar menu: tuna sliders, house-made takewan salad with ginger aioli; charmoula-rubbed lamb loin chop with cucumber mint relish, chickpea puree.

Weekday lunch is due to start on Oct. 27.

Barshak has been running in soft-opening mode for about two weeks. It's at 424 S. Bethlehem Pike, which is tucked off the pike. Mapquest will lead you astray; the restaurant is at the corner of Morris Road and Lafayette Avenue, behind Zake's and Germantown Academy. It's the old Marita's Cantina, if that jogs your memory. Phone is 215-591-0200.

Sometimes, news supersedes print deadlines. This info won't be part of my item about Alison two that will appear in Thursday's "Table Talk" column, which was prepared last week.

* And sometimes, news supersedes blog entries. Barshak's rep said Wednesday night that the dining room opening has been moved up to Oct. 16.
