Madewell to open in Rittenhouse

Madewell, the younger, hipper sister brand of J. Crew, confirmed Friday that it will make its Center City debut on Walnut Street this fall.

A rep told me the store is slated to open on Sept. 24, just in time to stock up on nifty boots, flannel selections, chunky sweaters, and Madewell's denim offerings.

The new boutique will be located at 1716 Walnut St., the current home of Arden B. Madewell is also located at the King of Prussia Mall. Urban dwellers, meanwhile, can get a feel for the brand's aesthetic by perusing the J. Crew on Chestnut.
