Designer Alfred Fiandaca, who was favored by Ann Romney on her husband's 2012 presidential campaign trail, passed away from a stroke on Saturday in New York.
The Palm Beach, Boston and New York-based designer enjoyed sharing his creations with the public at museum exhibitions, in addition to dressing Romney and other political wives at key events. Romney wore his designs on multiple occasions throughout her husband's campaign. Fiandaca has also dressed celebrities like Audrey Hepburn and Julie Andrews.
The designer famously stated in an October 2012 profile with the NY Times, “You make something clean, perfect, simple with beautiful fabric and nice lines and you wear it forever. And it might be a little bit more expensive than J. Crew or whatever but it doesn’t fall apart.”
