La Salle Men’s Swimming & Diving Comes Up Short Against Bucknell

PHILADELPHIA – The men’s swimming & diving squad fell 171-127 to Bucknell on Saturday afternoon at Kirk Pool. La Salle started off the competition with a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.73 and then would win the 400-free relay in 3:11.59 to sweep the relays.

La Salle started off the competition with a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.73 and then would win the 400-free relay in 3:11.59 to sweep the relays.

Senior Austin Thomas had a pair of victories, winning the 50-free in 21.22 and the 100-fly in 50.79.

Blase Szyszko won the 100-breast in 58.44 and then finished third in the 200-breast (2:07.99).

In the 200-free, sophomore Cameron Cabrera took second in 1:45.45, while junior Brian Batson came in third in 1:46.48.

Edward Carnes placed second in both the 100-back (53.07) and 200-back (1:57.02).  We would go on to take third in the 200 IM (2:00.40).

In the 200-fly, Joe Jung finished third in 1:59.64.

Jordan Baker won both the 1-meter (301.65) and 3-meter dives (319.35).  Freshman Corey Schultz placed second in the 3-meter (213.08) and third in the 1-meter (234.53).

The Explorers won't compete again until the Rhode Island Invitational in January.
