Saint Joseph's Women's Soccer Earns 0-0 Draw at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team posted its fourth-straight shutout on Friday, but unfortunately the Hawks only earned a point as they earned a 0-0 double overtime tie at Fordham. Sophomore Lauren Jancuska and junior Christine Neal combine for two saves in SJU's Atlantic 10 opener.

BRONX, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team posted its fourth-straight shutout on Friday, but unfortunately the Hawks only earned a point as they earned a 0-0 double overtime tie at Fordham. Sophomore Lauren Jancuska and junior Christine Neal combine for two saves in SJU's Atlantic 10 opener.

The Hawks' had an opportunity early to take the lead, but a header by senior Jen Pfeiffer bounced Fordham's way as it hit the crossbar. Pfeiffer again had a chance to put up SJU up, but her shot in the 23rd minute again found he crossbar.

After playing to a scoreless draw during regulation time, Saint Joseph's posted three shots in the first overtime, but unfortunately none were on net.

In the second extra frame, the Rams launched three shots, however two were off the mark and third was blocked by the Saint Joseph's defense to preserve the tie.

For the game, Jancuska made two saves in the first half, while Neal played the final 65 minutes, but wasn't called upon to make a save. Pfeiffer registered a team-best five shots, while the Rams outshot the Hawks 14-13.

With the draw, Saint Joseph's moved to 5-3-3, while Fordham moved to 5-4-2.
