Temple Women's Soccer Loses to Siena, 3-1

AMBLER, Pa. – Trailing by a goal to the Siena Saints through the first 45 minutes, Temple women's soccer returned with relentless pressure, controlling possession for a majority of the first eight minutes of the second half, producing junior Kate Yurkovic's game-tying goal in the 53rd minute. Siena responded with goals by Ashleigh Barone and Lindsay Tegas within the game's final 15 minutes, to defeat Temple 3-1, as the two teams wrapped up non-conference play.

Tegas scored the first of two goals on the day in the 12th minute when she was fed a pass from Caitlin Cahalan.

Yurkovic had a game-high six shots, one of which turned out to be the equalizer for the Owls.

From there, Siena took the ball down field where it put a cap on the scoring, as Tegas scored for the second time, giving the Saints all the insurance it would need with less than five minutes to play.

With non-conference competition now in the rearview, Temple (3-6-0) now sets its sights toward the open of Atlantic 10 Conference play when the Owls head just a few miles north on Broad Street to take on the La Salle Explorers (8-0-1) Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
