TOWSON, Md. - Saint Joseph's junior pitcher Erin Gallagher picked up her 20th win of the season, while classmate Bernadette Moran led the offensive charge in the Hawks' 5-1 win at Towson on Wednesday.
The Hawks got on the board in the top of the third, scoring three runs. Moran drove in the first two on a single and fielding error by the Tigers. Junior Monica Aguilar followed with a double, scoring Moran to make it a 3-0 game.
Gallagher would keep Towson off the board over four innings, allowing just two hits to earn the win.
Saint Joseph's (25-13) added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh to preserve the win. Christine Bednar scored the fourth run on a error in the sixth, while senior Laura Cardone's heady running scored on a fielder's choice in the seventh.
The Hawks return to action Saturday at Saint Louis. First game is set for a noon start.
