Temple Women's Cross Country Places 17th At ECAC Championship

BRONX, N.Y. - Freshman Stephanie Dorantes finished as the Owls' top runner in leading the Temple women's cross country team to a 17th place overall finish at the ECAC Championships, Saturday afternoon in Van Courtland Park.  Dorantes placed 50th with a time of 19:43, marking the second time this season she has posted the Owls' best time.

"We had a really solid day with three seniors running good times in their last race," commented assistant coach Matt Jelly.  "They took the program a long way and leave us with something we can really build on for the future."

Senior Rebecca Mims clocked in as Temple's second-fastest runner, clearing the hill-and-dale in a time of 19:51 for 57th.  Sophomore Rayna Kratchman crossed the finish line next in a time of 20:33 for 107th, followed by senior Brianna Linneman in 110th (20:35).

Also faring well was sophomore Katherine Frank, running a time of 20:54 for 131st.  Senior Jen Berman placed 141st with a time of 21:05, sophomore Dierdre MacFarlane came in at 151st (21:13), freshman Kelly Broadbent was 156th (21:21), freshman Taylor Goldsworthy was 178th (22:18) and junior Amy Stansbury placed 191st (23:24).
