Saint Joseph's Nicole McCreight Named to Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region Second Team

Saint Joseph's senior forward Nicole McCreight was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team on Thursday. A Hawk has now been named to the All-Mid-Atlantic squad for seven consecutive seasons.

McCreight is the 22nd Saint Joseph's field hockey player to garner All-Region honors; current teammate Jen Wrublesky was selected to the First Team in 2007.

The Havertown, Pa. native poured in 17 goals and added three assists for 37 points, tying for second in the Atlantic 10 in both categories. She was chosen as the conference's Offensive Player of the Year and named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team. She is the first Hawk to win the league's Offensive Player of the Year award.

McCreight posted the highest single-season goal total by a Hawk since 1986 (third-highest all-time) and the fourth-best single-season point total in program history. She started all 19 games this season after playing in just 15 due to injuries over the course of her first three years.

On August 29, McCreight tied a school record when she scored four goals in a 7-3 win over Bucknell. She also posted two other multi-goal games and notched three game-winners.

The Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region Teams are nominated and voted on by the region's Division I head coaches. Players selected to the All-Region squads are then considered for the All-American squad, to be announced next week.
