Kalas, Ashburn and Musser. Sports broadcasting will never see a better team.

agree with all the sentiments ... he was a pro, certainly better than a lot of the current broadcaters, and part of a golden age in Philadelphia sports

Favorite Andy Musser memory? That's easy. "HE BURIED IT!!!" His call of Schmidt's home run in the 10th at Montreal to put the Phillies up, and ultimately clinch the NL East in 1980. Never forget it. RIP Andy.

RIP Andy. He may have been second fiddle to Harry and Whitey but he was the best second fiddle in the business.

I too remember that 1980 call of Schmidt's HR in Montreal, last weekend of the season, listening to clear channel WCAU out in Dayton, Ohio at the time. He was part of the Phillies family. RIP Andy Musser.

Very sad to hear that former Phillies broadcaster Andy Musser has passed. While no Harry Kalas or Richie Ashburn, I always enjoyed listening to Musser's eloquent depiction of the game. He had a voice for baseball and was a delightful part of my childhood baseball experience. Rest in Peace, Andy.

I always thought he was never given enough credit. It was never any better than Harry, Whitey, and Andy.

Didn't the Phillies fire him once during the offseason, and the fans raised a stink and they hired him back?

I hope he knew and his family knows how much so many of us appreciated Andy. I was fortunate to have met him once, when I was broadcasting games on the student radio station at Pitt and he was doing Villanova hoops. He was a legend, and I was a pipsqueak college kid, but he made time to talk with me and to give me some advice about the business. What a great guy. It's a sad day.
