Enhance your performance at the Endurance Sports Expo

Calling all cyclists, runners and triathletes, don’t miss this year’s Endurance Sports Expo at The Greater Philadelphia Expo in Oaks, PA on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22.

Calling all cyclists, runners and triathletes, don't miss this year's Endurance Sports Expo at The Greater Philadelphia Expo in Oaks, Pa. on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22. On Saturday the expo will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Geared toward all endurance athletes, the Endurance Sports Expo (ESE) will offer the latest running gear, road and mountain bikes and newest tri products. You will also get the chance to learn from experts in the industry and find out about upcoming endurance events and new clubs that you might want to join. Check out the 200 national and local vendors and attend Endurance University seminars on cycling, running and triathlons led by professional and Olympic athletes as well as industry insiders.

One of the highlights of this year's expo will be the Endless Pools exhibit. One of their pools will be running the whole show and you can take some laps and get video of yourself swimming from above and under the water. "You will be able to get a copy of that video and either take it to your coach for analysis or ask one of the coaches at the expo to look at it for you," Matt Reece, one of the directors explained.

Glenn Mills, Olympian athlete and co-founder of GoSwim TV will also be nearby to talk about swimming techniques. And if you are in the market for a new coach in any of the three endurance sports, there will be coaches available that meet all budgets and personalities.

Class will also be in session at the Endurance University seminars. They will run every hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday in four different rooms. According to Reece, there will be a good mix of sessions on nutrition, swimming, running and tri events.

Dr. Michael Ross, director of Rothman Institute's Performance Lab at Velocity Sports in Cherry Hill, NJ, will be speaking about high intensity training for high endurance athletes and the scientific truth behind building endurance. Saturday only at 2 p.m., triathletes Steve Brown and Derek Fitzgerald will talk about "Surviving with Endurance" and their battles with blood cancer and how their multisport lifestyles remain a driving force behind their health, and their commitment to finding a cure and raising awareness.

Reece says that the expo is a non-intimidating, no pressure way for people just starting out in endurance sports to get their feet wet for the first time.

"Unintentionally, it has also become the season kickoff for many clubs. The expo is where people come to figure out what they will do for the upcoming year. We found that some clubs gather their members together and come to the expo and then maybe go out to lunch or for a walk on nearby Schuylkill River Trail afterwards," he said.
