Sixers win NBA Summer League opener

LAS VEGAS – The 76ers defeated the Jazz, 74-70, in Saturday night's NBA Summer League opener for both teams at the Thomas and Mack Center.

Elijah Millsap gave the Sixers (1-0) their four-point cushion on a pair of foul shots with 4.1 seconds left.

Sean Kilpatrick and Jordan McRae paced the squad with 20 points apiece.

Eleven of Kilpatrick's points came in the first quarter.  The shooting guard shot 7 of 13 from the field and made 3 of 5 three-pointers.

McRae struggled from the field, going 4-for-15.  The guard/forward, however, made 10 of 12 foul shots.

Power forward Malcolm Thomas led the Jazz (0-1) with 13 points. Point guard Trey Burke added 11 points on  just 4-for-12 shooting. Dante Exum, a combo guard from Australia, finished with 10 points.

The Sixers will face the Cavaliers (1-0) at 8 p.m. Monday at Cox Pavilion.
