Sixers to hire Jim O'Brien as assistant coach
SALT LAKE CITY – Former 76ers head coach Jim O'Brien will be hired as the team's assistant head coach, a source said Friday.
Fox29 first reported the news.
O'Brien coached the Sixers to a 43-39 record during the 2004-05 season and was let go after the season. The Roman Catholic graduate compiled a 303-327 record in his nine seasons as an NBA coach, with stints with the Boston Celtics, Sixers, and Indiana Pacers.
