Sixers to compete in Orlando, Las Vegas summer leagues

The NBA makes it official.

It was announced Tuesday that the 76ers are among the 24 teams participating in the NBA Summer League on July 11-21 in Las Vegas. The Sixers join the Miami Heat and the Houston Rockets as the only squad that will compete in both summer leagues.

The Orlando Pro Summer League runs July 5-11 at the Orlando Magics' practice facility at the Amway Center in Orlando. The Sixers will travel to Las Vegas following their Orlando final game on July 11, and begin play in the NBA league on July 12.

Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 11-15 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Then the squad will be seeded for the playoffs, which conclude with a championship game on July 21. All 24 participants are guaranteed five games. One of the team's participating will be a NBA Development League select team.

This will mark the Sixers' first time competing in the NBA league since 2008. They have a 6-4 all-time record in the summer league.
