Sixers hoping for some Lottery luck

So much depends on the ping pong balls for the 76ers, including how many prospects they will bring in for pre-draft workouts.

When asked how many pre-draft workouts the Sixers would have, new vice president player personnel Marc Eversley said, "Anywhere from eight to 11…Depending on where we fall within the lottery. That will definitely determine how many workouts we do have."

The Sixers are guaranteed one lottery pick and would receive a second if the Los Angeles Lakers top-three protected selection, falls pat the first three.

In addition, the Sixers also have picks No. 24 and 26 in the first round.

Coach Brett Brown will be the Sixers on-stage representative at the Lottery, to be held in New York City. Eversley didn't want to put too much pressure on Brown, but then he did just that.

"It's (on) coach Brown," Eversley said laughing. "Hopefully luck is on our side, we will see where it falls."

Eversley, who was most recently the Washington Wizards VP of scouting, says having a good handle on the draft is the key, regardless of where the Sixers are selecting.

"I feel very well versed in terms of the draft and what prospects are out there," he said. "I feel very comfortable and I know the staff has gotten out and scouted a lot of games, so we will be prepared."

And he hopes a little lucky as well.
