Sixers exercise option on Hollis Thompson

The 76ers have exercised the fourth-year team option on Hollis Thompson.

The 6-foot-8 shooting guard is scheduled to make around $1.01 million this coming season.

The former Georgetown standout averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 39.1 percent on three-pointers over his first three seasons in the league. Thompson averaged a career-best 9.8 points this past season. He started in 17 of his 77 games played.

The 25-year-old is the only remaining Sixer that played during the 2013-14 season.  Center Nerlens Noel was also member of the team. Noel, however, was sidelined the entire season while rehabilitating a knee injury.

After going undrafted in 2012,  Thompson spent the season with the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League. He signed with the Sixers on Sept. 27, 2013 and has contributed as a solid three-point shooter.
