Both sides will get a chance. The Sixers acquired Teague and a 2019 second-round draft pick from the Brooklyn Nets on Friday in exchange for Casper Ware.

The Sixers are the 6-foot-1, 189-pounder's third NBA team since January. The move was created to save money and create a roster spot for the Nets, who are expected to waive Ware. Brooklyn would have owed Teague his guaranteed $1.1 million salary if they cut him. He has a $2 million team option for the 2015-16 season.

The 21-year-old was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 draft following his freshman season at Kentucky.  Teague was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 draft following his freshman season at Kentucky.

He played sparingly for the Bulls before being traded to Brooklyn.  Teague was unable to crack the Nets' rotation last season and was overwhelmed in summer-league play and this preseason.  The younger of Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague committed 6 turnovers in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Celtics.Ware averaged 7 points and 3.8 assists this preseason for the Sixers. The Sixers orginally acquired via a 10-day contract last season. After signing him to a second 10-day deal, Ware was signed through the rest of the season.
