Sixers at Kentucky guard Malik Monk's workout

The 76ers have the third pick in the first round of the NBA draft.

The 76ers were well represented Thursday in New York at a sports agency's predraft workout for NBA prospects that included projected top-eight pick Malik Monk.

Among the Sixers executives on hand for Excel Sports Management's workout were Bryan Colangelo, president of basketball operations; Marc Eversley, president of player personnel; and Ned Cohen, vice president of basketball operations.

Monk, a shooting guard out of Kentucky, will be an option for the Sixers, who have the third overall pick in the draft on June 22.

Monk performed well in shooting and dribbling drills. He did not scrimmage, as the workout session was designed to highlight his strengths. The 6-foot-3, 197-pounder displayed his athleticism.

He averaged 19.8 points while shooting 39.7 percent on three-pointers in his lone season at Kentucky.

Harry Giles and T.J. Leaf were the other notable workout participants. Giles is a 6-11 center out of Duke. Leaf is a 6-10 power forward from UCLA. Both are projected late first-rounders.

The Sixers also attended Tandem Sports and Entertainment agency's workout Wednesday in Virginia that featured projected first-rounders in Texas center Jarrett Allen and North Carolina forward Justin Jackson.

Representatives of most NBA teams will attend the Priority Sports agency's workout Friday in Chicago. The agency represents Gonzaga center Zach Collins, another projected first-rounder.

A workout for Ball?

UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball is considering a workout with the Sixers, ESPN reported. According to the report, a decision will be made after Ball's agent, Harrison Gaines, talks with Colangelo.

Ball's father, LaVar, said last week that his son would only work out for the Lakers. The Balls turned down the Celtics' workout request.
