Report: Nets targeting 76ers' Thomas Robinson

Are the Brooklyn Nets Thomas Robinson's next destination?

The New York Post is reporting the Nets will target the 76ers reserve power forward when free agency begins Wednesday. Robinson will become an unrestricted free agent at midnight. That's when players can agree to new deals, They can't sign contracts until July 10.

Brooklyn's interest in the 6-foot-9, 240-pounder makes sense. The Nets tried to sign him to a 10-day contract after he was waived by the Denver Nuggets on Feb. 22.

He even agreed to play with Brooklyn one day later, but had to clear waivers on the evening of Feb. 24 before signing a contract. However, the Sixers claimed him off waivers, spoiling his plan.  The Nets were upset over the Sixers' actions, according to multiple league sources. Brooklyn was likely going to sign him for the rest of the season after his 10-day deal.

Robinson averaged 8.8 points and 7.7 rebounds in 18.5 minutes in 22 games with the Sixers.

The Nuggets had acquired Robinson, Victor Claver and Will Barton, along with a 2016 lottery-protected first-round pick from the Portland Trail Blazers, for Arron Afflalo and Alonzo Gee on Feb. 19.
