Markelle Fultz, De'Aaron Fox and Josh Hart among 67 prospects to attend NBA draft combine
Washington point guard Markelle Fultz and Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox are the headliners for next week's NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. Villanova guard Josh Hart will also be among the 67 attendees.
Fultz, Fox and Texas center Jarrett Allen will be the only projected Top 11 picks in the June 22 NBA draft at the combine.
Lonzo Ball (UCLA), Josh Jackson (Kansas), Jayson Tatum (Duke), Jonathan Isaac (Florida State), Malik Monk (Kentucky), Dennis Smith (N.C. State), Lauri Markkanen (Arizona) and Frank Ntilikina (France) will not attend. Ntilikina has overseas basketball obligations.
It's no surprise that they'll bypass the event. In recent years, many top draft prospects declined the combine invitations.
Not all of the players, who attend, agree to do on-court basketball drills. However, they will undergo medical testing and measurements and interview with the NBA teams.
The on-court and media interview portions of the combine are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Quest Multisport Complex.
Fultz is projected as the first overall selection in several mock drafts. Fox could be among the first four picks. Meanwhile, Hart is regarded as a second-round prospect.
