Ilgauskas a guest at Sixers training camp

GALLOWAY, N.J. --  Zydrunas Ilgauskas attended Tuesday's training camp sessions as the 76ers' guest.  He was there for good reason.

The former 7-foot-3 Cleveland standout was hampered early in his career with fracture to the navicular bone in his foot. That's the same injury that Embiid is trying to overcome.

"He's fantastic," Brown said of Ilgauskas. "The stories he tells to Joel about I think it was [three]  naviculars. He missed five years and then went on to string 10 consecutive years as an NBA all-star and made $100 million.

"He's a helluva story really."

Ilgauskas missed 202 games and had three fractured navicular bone surgeries from 1998-2001. His final surgery included a bone graph and the reshaping of the first metatarsal and heel bone to relieve stress in his foot.

He was only scheduled to attend Tuesday's sessions. Ilgauskas was also guest of the Sixers in November.
