Former Ragin' Cajun standout gets Sixers deal
Shawn Long agreed to a two-year partially guaranteed contract with the 76ers on Friday, according to a league source.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound post player of Louisiana-Lafayette went undrafted in Thursday's NBA Draft. Long impressed the Sixers during his predraft workout on May 16.
"I call him a stretch five, stretch four," Sixers vice president of player personnel Marc Eversley said after that workout. "He has the ability to go out make a shot.
"The other thing that he does well is that he can take you off the dribble. He utilizes a pump fake well."
Long shot 34.1 percent on three-pointers his four-year career with the Ragin' Cajuns. He averaged 18.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks this past season.
