The Delaware 87ers announced five coaching hires on Wednesday, and some of them are very familiar names to Philadephia basketball fans.

One is former Villanova star Curtis Sumpter, who will be the player development coach for the 76ers' NBA D-League affiliate. He has been a player development assistant on the Sixers' staff since 2013.

Another is Phil Martelli, Jr., who will serve as an assistant to coach. The well-known son of the even-better-known Saint Joseph's head men's basketball coach has been an assistant coach at the University of Delaware for the last five seasons. His new office will be the same as his old office, as the Sevens play at the Blue Hens' arena in Newark.

Martelli will be joined on the bench by another new hire in Dan Tacheny, who spent the last two years as the Washington Wizards' coordinator of player development.

The 87ers also hired Mfon Udofia, one of their draft picks in 2013 who went on to play in Europe, as a player development/video associate; and promoted former intern Matthew Lilly to a full-time job as basketball operations assistant.
