NEW YORK – Brown Brown wants to keep Jarvis Varnado.

We will find out Tuesday if the 76ers coach gets his wish.

Monday is the final day of the 6-foot-10 power forward's 10-day contract with the Sixers. The franchise can resign him to a second 10-day deal on Tuesday.

"I'm thrilled with him, so far," Brown said of Varnado. "I think he's a good guy. I think he's just so willing to please, so coachable. Then he has a skill of blocking shots and a toughness inside.

"He's somebody I want to keep moving with."

Varnado blocked three shots against the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on March 2. He averaged 2.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 12.4 minutes in the four games heading into Monday's contest against the New York Knicks' at Madison Square Garden.
