"Best" &"Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Thunder
My look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the Oklahoma City Thunder's 103-91 victory over the 76ers on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center:
Best performance: Everyone knew Kevin Durant would win this award. And that's what he did it in a big way. The Oklahoma City swingman had a triple double, finishing with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. This marked the 10th consecutive game in which he has scored at least 30 points.
Worst performance: This is a tough one, because there were a lot of candidates. But it goes to Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson, who had more turnovers (four) than made field goal (one). He shot 1-for-9 to finish with five points. Jackson missed all three of his three-point attempts.
Best performance in a losing effort: Thaddeus Young gets this one after coming two steals shy of recording a triple double. The Sixers power forward finished 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals. Six of his rebounds came on the offensive end.
Best defensive performance: Serge Ibaka wins this award after dominating the Sixers. He was in beast mode, blocking five shots and altering a lot more. Eight of the Thunder's 11 rebounds game on the defensive end.
Worst statistic: How can you not give this to the Sixers' three-point shooting? They shot 4 for 27 (14.8 percent) on threes.
Best statistic: This award goes to Oklahoma City's shooting. They shot 52.6 percent (40 of 76) from the field.
Worst of the Worst: The helpless facial expressions on the Sixers defenders who had to guard Durant. They gave their all, hustled and were in the right position. But the Washington, D.C. native still did whatever he wanted to do.
