'Best' & 'Worst' awards: Sixers vs. Magic

ORLANDO – My look at some of the best and worst performances from the Orlando Magic's 92-81 victory over the 76ers on Sunday at Amway Center:

Best performance: This was an easy one, because Tobias Harris gave the Sixers the business. The Orlando forward finished with a game-high 31 points on 10 of 20 shooting. Harris was a factor from the starting, scoring 13 points in the first quarter.

Worst performance: This has to go to Eric Maynor. The Sixers backup point guard has struggled some since being acquired from the Washington Wizards in a three-team trade on Feb. 20. Sunday was no different. Maynor missed all four of his shot attempts. He also had three turnovers and just one assist in 16 minutes, 8 seconds of action.

Best defensive performance: This award goes to the newest Sixer, Jarvis Varnado. The power forward, who signed a 10-day contract on Saturday, blocked three shots and altered several others.  Varnado also finished with two points and three rebounds – all defensive - in 14:38.

Best performance in a losing effort: Thaddeus Young wins this award after producing 29 points on 13-for-25 shooting. He made a game-high three three-pointers. The power forward also had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to Orlando's three-point shooting. It made just 1 of 13 attempts (7.7 percent). .

Best statistic: This award goes to the Sixers' first-quarter shooting. They shot 52.6 percent (10 of 19) in the first 12 minutes.

Worst of the Worst:  This has to go the Sixers' inability to hold onto the ball after intermission. They committed 13 of their 19 turnovers in the second half. Nine came during a stretch from late in the third quarter to early in the fourth. Those costly miscues were the difference in the outcome.
