Allen Iverson fails to show up for appearance at Delaware 87ers game

Allen Iverson was supposed to be in attendance at last night's Delaware 87ers game, but for the second time, the his appearance was abruptly canceled.

The Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware was supposed to host a meet-and-greet with the Sixers legend prior to a game between the Sixers' D-league team and the Grand Rapids Drive, but in a move to which his fans are growing sadly accustomed, Iverson called the event off with no warning.

"...disappointing, but it's not shocking," said one fan according to Delaware Online, adding that this sort of behavior was "expected" of Iverson, even among his strongest fans. One father and son had taken a 90-minute drive from out of state just to see their hero.

Regardless, some fans, while unsurprised, remained big fans of the Sixers star and stayed to watch the 87ers beat the Drive, 107-103.
