76ers-Timberwolves best worst: Wiggins, Covington and Sixers trailing 66-33

MINNEAPOLIS – This is my look at some of the best and worst performances from the Minnesota Timberwolves' 110-86 victory over the 76ers Thursday night at the Target Center.

Best performance:  This goes to Andrew Wiggins on a night when his Timberwolves teammate Karl-Anthony Towns graded out with a plus 33. But Wiggins scored a game-high 35 points on 14-for-20 shooting – including going 3 of 6 on three-pointers. The small forward also finished with 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three turnovers.

Worst performance:  I had to give this to Robert Covington.  The Sixers small forward shot 1-for-12 from the field to finish with four points.  He missed all seven of his three-point attempts.

Best defensive performance:  Andreian Payne wins this award. The Timberwolves reserve power forward had a game-high three blocks to go with two steals.

Best performance by a Sixer:  Joel Embiid gets this award after finishing posting his third double-double of the season by finishing with 10 points, 10 rebounds and blocked shot in 22 minutes, 26 seconds.  The rookie center made 4 of 9 shots while being roughed up repeatedly by the Timberwolves.

Worst statistic: This award goes to the combined shooting of Sixers starters Covington, Gerald Henderson (1-for-4) and Sergio Rodriguez (0-for-4). They shot a combined 2-for-20.

Best statistic: I'm giving this to the Sixers foul shooting. They shot 90.

Worst of the Worst: This was a tough one. But I'm giving this to the Sixers losing 66-33  with 10:46 left in the third quarter after a Wiggins three-pointer. That basket enabled the Timberwolves to double up the Sixers scoring output.
