Phillies finding home success against Miami

Today will be the Miami Marlins final appearance this season at Citizens Bank Park and the Phillies are likely sorry to see it end.

While the Phillies are 69-79 overall, they are 9-6 against the Marlins. Taking it a step further, they are 7-2 against Miami this year at Citizens Bank Park. Since Sept. 10, 2012, the Phillies are 17-5 (.773) against the Marlins at Citizens Bank Park.

(The two teams finish their season series Sept. 23-25 in Miami).

Jonathan Papelbon has pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the wins on Friday and Saturday. If he makes a third straight appearance, recent history suggests it benefits the Phillies.

Papelbon is 18-for-18 in save opportunities in his career against the Marlins and the Phillies have won 23 consecutive games against Miami when he makes an appearance.

In today's series finale, David Buchanan (6-7, 3.90 ERA) faces Marlins RHP Tom Klehler (9-9, 3.74).
