Game 3: Another lefthanded pitcher, another lineup

The Phillies will face a lefthanded starter for the second straight day (another one awaits Friday in Chicago) and Ryne Sandberg adjusted his lineup yet again.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Phillies will face a lefthanded starter for the second straight day (another one awaits Friday in Chicago) and Ryne Sandberg adjusted his lineup yet again.

This time, Ryan Howard bats cleanup as the designated hitter. But Carlos Ruiz moves up to second for just the fifth time in his career. And Jayson Nix is at shortstop, which means Sandberg found a day of rest from the field for each of his infielders over the first three games.

The Rangers will counter with Robbie Ross, who has never started a major-league game. He has a career 2.62 ERA in 123 relief appearances.

1. Ben Revere 8
2. Carlos Ruiz 2
3. Chase Utley 4
4. Ryan Howard 0
5. Marlon Byrd 9
6. Domonic Brown 7
7. John Mayberry Jr. 3
8. Cody Asche 5
