Neuvirth leaves practice; status unknown

Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth left Monday's practice at the Skate Zone in Voorhees and didn't return. His status was not immediately known.

It was the Flyers' first time on the ice since Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win at Washington. When asked about recalling another goalie, coach Dave Hakstol said, "We have to decide after Neuvy is evaluated."

There was a more optimistic projection for the return of goalie Steve Mason and center Sean Couturier from lower body injuries. Both practiced and said they should play in Tuesday's home game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Mason has not played the last two games, and didn't dress for the last one. Couturier missed the last three games.

"I think so, yes," Couturier said when asked if he should play Tuesday. "Everybody is coming off a break so it should maybe be a little easier to get right back into it."

Mason was just as optimistic.

"I got through today pretty well and will be ready to go tomorrow," Mason said. "It is something we keep on top of, and it will continue to get better."
