Reports: Pat Shurmur to be an assistant coach with Minnesota Vikings

Pat Shurmur found a landing spot with the Minnesota Vikings, according to multiple reports, but it's unclear what Shurmur's role will be with on Vikings coach Mike Zimmer's staff.

Shurmur, 50, was the Eagles' offensive coordinator during the past three seasons and the interim head coach in Week 17. He was also a candidate for the Eagles' head-coaching job that ultimately went to Doug Pederson, who hired Frank Reich as the offensive coordinator.

Norv Turner is entrenched as offensive coordinator with the Vikings, and the only opening on their staff appears to be running backs coach. Shurmur has been a coordinator or head coach every year since 2009.

The Los Angeles Rams reportedly had interest in Shurmur as the passing game coordinator, but the Vikings were his first interview.

The Eagles retained running backs coach Duce Staley, tight ends coach Justin Peelle, and offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. Quarterbacks Ryan Day and wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell are expected to follow Chip Kelly to San Francisco. That means every member of the Eagles' offensive coaching staff from last season has already found a new job.
