Report: Eagles wanted to bring back Philly native WR Rasheed Bailey

Apparently, the Eagles have been looking to acquire more wide receivers than just Dorial Green-Beckham.

Apparently, the Eagles have been looking to acquire more wide receivers than just Dorial Green-Beckham.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Friday morning that the team tried to bring back Rasheed Bailey after he was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday.

But the San Diego Chargers were higher up the NFL's waiver priority order and wanted to sign Bailey, so they claimed him.

Bailey, a graduate of Roxborough High School, was an undrafted free agent signing out of Division III Delaware Valley University in 2015. He had a lot of people in town rooting for him, but ultimately, the Eagles released him before the season started.

After a brief tryout with the Canadian Football League's BC Lions, Bailey returned to the U.S. to join the Jaguars' practice squad. He stayed with Jacksonville until this week.
