Report: Eagles block Jets from interviewing quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo

The word got out earlier this week that the New York Jets were interested in talking to Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo about becoming their next offensive coordinator.

The word got out earlier this week that the New York Jets were interested in talking to Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo about becoming their offensive coordinator.

On Thursday morning, ESPN reported that the New York Jets had formally requested permission to talk to him:

A few hours later, the Eagles apparently answered that request:

DeFilippo was the Jets' quarterbacks coach in 2009. He went from there to San Jose State University, then returned to the NFL with the Raiders, subsequently moved to the Browns, and joined the Eagles a year ago.
