Michael Vick advises DeSean Jackson to 'embrace' a potential trade from the Eagles

Although the Eagles have remained relatively quiet when it comes to DeSean Jackson, the wideout's former teammate and newest New York Jet Michael Vick has not.

In an a radio interview with ESPN Tuesday morning, Vick spoke out about his friend and teammate of five seasons, encouraging Jackson to "embrace" a trade if one happens.

"If it does happen for DeSean, it's something that he has to embrace, something he may have to learn from, depending on whether he wants to leave or not," Vick said on "Mike & Mike" before voicing his support for the embattled receiver.

"Regardless, I'm going to support him. He's always been a great friend of mine and a great football player. And, I think highly of him. I give him my utmost support."

Vick, of course, doesn't know exactly what is going on behind the scenes with the team and one of their most productive players in Jackson, but he did offer some insight into Chip Kelly's attitude and approach.

"Chip Kelly is a leader. You have to understand Chip Kelly to know what type of person he is and be around him," the quarterback said. "He's not a bad person by any stretch. But certain organizations want things done a certain way."

"[Jackson] is a very productive player," Vick continued. "Everybody has a lot of respect for him. But I think at the end of the day, Chip Kelly's decision -- the way he wants to do it -- is his decision. Who knows why internally."

Although a source close to Jackson said that Kelly told the receiver not to worry, his future in Philadelphia seems far from certain.

If Jackson does get moved, one team that has some interest is Vick's new team, the Jets. Their owner, Woody Johnson, said earlier this week that the team is "looking at a number of players, including DeSean, [and] he's a very good player."
