Marcus Smith leaves practice with right leg injury; Earl Wolff remains out, meeting with doctor

Marcus Smith left practice on Thursday with a right leg injury.

Marcus Smith left practice on Thursday with a right leg injury. He limped off the field with Eagles trainers, hopped into a cart, and was taxied inside. The injury occurred during a kick coverage drill.

Smith, the Eagles' 2014 first-round draft pick, has the opportunity to secure an important role as the third outside linebacker. The Eagles are thin at the position -- they've already lost three players at that spot to season-ending injury.

Defensive coordinator Bill Davis came to talk to to Smith before Smith went inside.

More information to come.

WOLFF STILL OUT

Earl Wolff was not on the practice field on Wednesday because he met with a doctor about his right  knee, and that remains the case on Thursday. It is not a good sign for the Eagles' safety, who finished last season on injured reserve and missed the preseason opener.

"I don't look at it as frustrating," coach Chip Kelly said. "For Earl, it's frustrating. For us, we just have to make evaluation based on how they present it."
