Eagles' Ertz and McKelvin both practice

Put down tight end Zach Ertz as a definite yes, but cornerback Leodis McKelvin still as a maybe for Sunday's game at Detroit against the Lions.

Both Ertz and McKelvin were full participants in a light post-bye week practice session Monday at the NovaCare Complex.

"I'm for sure playing Sunday,'' said Ertz, who missed the last two games with a rib displacement. "I had an MRI this morning. They saw what they needed to see.

"I'm very excited. Obviously, we took our time with it. We were very cautious with everything. But I'm at where I need to be, and I'm very excited about [playing] this week.''

McKelvin, who also has sat out the last two games with a hamstring strain said his leg made it through Monday's practice without any problems.

"Medically, I've been cleared to go out there and test it out and see how things go,'' he said. "I finished practice today and didn't have any problems with it. We'll see how things go on Wednesday.''

McKelvin said he probably wouldn't have been able to play Sunday if the Eagles didn't have a bye.

"I don't think so,'' he said. "I would have pushed for it. But I wouldn't have wanted to injure that thing further.

"The bye week came at the best time in the season for me.''

Rookie Jalen Mills replaced McKelvin the last two games.

"Jalen did pretty good,'' the veteran corner said. "He had a couple little hiccups in there. Just something for him to learn on.

"Like I told him yesterday, just make sure you're ready, and continue to build confidence in yourself. Because you never know the next time [you might be needed].''
